Start: Saturday July 11th, 2026 at 7 am, from Piazza Abbé Henry, Courmayeur
Arrival: Courmayeur Parco del Bollino – Mont Blanc Trail Fest Village
The route, approximately 55 km long with an elevation gain of about 3,500 metres, winds along the scenic trails of Courmayeur and Pré-Saint-Didier, mainly developing through the stunning Val Veny, at the foot of Mont Blanc.
The entire course is marked with yellow flags, signs, and arrows to ensure clear and safe navigation for all participants.
The start takes place in Piazza Abbé Henry, in the historic centre of Courmayeur (1,224 m a.s.l.). After passing through Dolonne and the Fonti Vittoria, the trail climbs towards Champex, Pré-Saint-Didier.
From the thermal village, the route continues along the path leading to the Orrido footbridge and the Adventure Park, before ascending towards the entrance of the Plan Praz valley. A flat section then leads to the first refreshment point at the Youlaz alpine huts (2,047 m a.s.l.).
Retracing part of the legendary Tor des Géants®, runners reach the panoramic Colle dell’Arp (2,572 m a.s.l.), Colle di Youlaz (2,661 m a.s.l.) and the highest point of the race, just below Mont Nix (2,830 m a.s.l.).
A long traverse follows towards Col du Berrio Blanc (2,818 m a.s.l.) and Mont Fortin (2,755 m a.s.l.), where an airlifted mobile bivouac serves as a refreshment point.
The descent continues past beautiful alpine lakes, towards Col Chavanne (2,598 m a.s.l.), Col de la Seigne (2,510 m a.s.l.) and the Casermette (2,290 m a.s.l.), reaching the Lago Combal refreshment point (1,952 m a.s.l.).
Following the Tour du Mont Blanc trail, the route climbs to Arp Vieille (2,303 m a.s.l.), passes Lago Checrouit (2,151 m a.s.l.), and reaches Rifugio Maison Vieille (1,952 m a.s.l.), where another refreshment awaits.
From there, the course ascends to Courba Dzeleuna (2,048 m a.s.l.) before descending towards Plan Checrouit and finally reaching the finish line in Courmayeur, at the Parco del Bollino, the vibrant heart of the Mont Blanc Trail Fest Village.
The maximum time allowed for the race is 18 hours. The trail is highly technical with considerable differences in altitude, exposed sections and the possibility of snowfields, but is run entirely along classified hiking paths.
Sections on paved roads are kept to a minimum and only on public roads where the route passes through built-up areas.
There are several rescue points and refreshment points along the route. Before leaving a refreshment point, runners must ensure they have enough food and water to last them until the next one.
